Many Billfish Raised
Thursday 31st July 2008
Today saw at least 12 Blue Marlin being Raised so potentially some good fishing.
Dorado at 11am hooked into a Blue Marlin and Angler Steve Barnes From Birmingham started to play the fish but unfortunately the fish was not hooked properly and it was bad Luck for Steve and the Crew.
On notifying Cavalier they had a hook up she headed to the area and not long afterwards they where hooked into a Blue Marlin . Angler Peter Gries from Germany expertly played this beauty to Tag & release. WELL DONE PETER AND CREW.
Just after the release a whopper of a Blue Marlin struck the Lures and ran taking a vast amount of Line This fish Reportably was in the region of 400kilos . Watched by the Dorado the jumps where spectacular Angler John Newman was in the Chair and whilst the fish was still running and Jumping unfortunately it was Lost. Bad Luck John and Crew.

3rd & Final Day
Monday 28th July 2008
Marlin 1 - Birmingham City 0
Sunday 27th July 2008
Today Dorado had a private charter with Blues Supporter Mick Hall and Friend Steve Barnes.
Not long into the fishing trip the 1st Blue Marlin was raised but unfortunately this one just snatched at the Lures and was gone.
approx 30 mins later another Nice Blue marlin was raised it hooked on the 1st lure, whilst winding in the other rods the fish dropped the hook. But all was not lost as it came back and took on a 2nd run and once again it through the hooks. Thinking all was Lost it then slammed on the centre rigger and this time it stayed on.
Mick in the Chair playing the fish nicely to the boat and less than 20 meters from the boat - Yes you guessed it- the hook pulled and the fish was gone. As they say Folks Thats Fishing.
Bad Luck for Mick and Crew as this would have been another tag & released Blue Marlin adding to Dorado boats ever incresing tally this Season.
Later in the Day many birds where working and fish splashing and scholls of bonito tuna were jumping although we were trolling this area for some time No marlin to be had Obviously filling themselves with the bonitos.
Overall although Mick lost his Blue Marlin near the Boat a very enjoyable day was had by all and Mick and Steve are trying their Luck again this week.
