Dorado 2 Blue Marlin up
Monday 31st August 2009
Well after a dissapointing Competition with only 3 Blue Marlin caught by 37 boats in 3 days after a days rest we resumed Big Game fishing today and yes Dorado raised 2 Blue Marlin.
Hooking up with one only for the Gremlins to rear their ugly head . This Blue Marlin took the Lure in full view and then the line snagged on the wind on leader swivel and with an almighty crack the fish was gone.
Later Blue Marlin number 2 was raised in the spread but failed to hook up.
Well thats fishing folks and tomorrow is another day.
On reports heard today Dorado was the only boat to Raise Blue Marlin today.
Pasito Lottery

The Pasito Blanco Tournament this year unfortunately turned out to be a lottery with only 3 Blue Marlin and 1 Tuna being Caught by 37 boats.
Well done to Eduardo and Crew winning with the catch and release of their 1 blue Marlin of approx 200kilos.
Although this Season has produced some excellent fishing this last week has been unusually quiet for the Big Fish so Lets hope a new run of Blue Marlin come through this week to make up for the disapointing fishing all competitors endured during the last 3 days tournament.

DORADO - WAHOO
Tuesday 25th August 2009
Due to the last few days being slow for the Blue Marlin we edged our bets for our charter clients today and fished in approx 75 fathoms giving us the chance of Marlin, wahoo and bonito tuna or Dorado. The clients Today were Trevor Pocklington with sister Sarah from Canada and Sarah´s boyfriend Tom from the Uk. The clients agreed our stratergy and were rewarded with a wahoo of 15kilos/30lbs. No boats caught Blue Marlin today so our clients were delighted in catching their 1st ever Big Game fish Wahoo.
Lets hope the Marlin start to move again this week for the Pasito Blanco Tournament on Thursday - Friday and Saturday.Maybe a new run of fish will come through - keeping our fingers crossed.

Dorado hooked Blue Marlin

The last few days has been hard fishing for all the boats trolling But we are still Raising Blue Marlin without hook ups - Thats Fishing Folks!
Today Saturday was a different story with a hook up of a Blue Marlin on Swedish Ingamar´s son in laws Rod. This blue marlin ran off over 50meters of line before throwing the Hook . Bad luck for this swedish angler.
On wednesday we did an afternoon trip with the Rimmer Party and friends for a fun afternoon and we got it with Alan Rimmer entertaining all on board hooking into a very Large Ray first . Then he was playing a very strong heavy fish caught on live bait only to tangle up with a stingray already hooked and being played and you guessed it both lines cut through. Later he went on to play a heafty Barracuda. Dennis Stolwijk from Holland caught and released a 90kilos / 200lbs Stingray- photos on photo gallery.
Fun afternoon had by all on board.
THE BLUE MARLIN at the moment are very finicky although today showing and hooking up - lets see what next weeks fishing has in store!
Blue Marlin DORADO
Tuesday 18th August 2009
Congratulations to Sejourne Dominique From Saint Etienne De Montluc France who chratered the Dorado Boat and they came up with the goods. Marlin Number 1 hooked - Angler in the chair and 5/10mins into the Play line goes slack and fish gone. Bad Luck for all concerned. Not disheartened they proceeded to raise 3 more Blue Marlin before a 2nd hook up and this one was well and truly hooked, angler crew set into action to get this BEAUTY to the boat in good condition. Well done to Angler who played this fish for approx 18mins and the 160kilos/350lbs Blue Marlin was caught and Realeased. A further 3 Blue Marlin were sighted feeding on top but none came to the lures. Well done to Dorado Crew Roberto and Paul for making a dream come true for Dominique Sejourne from France.
Also Tuna Today were sighted on 2 occasions but with no results.
WE ARE STILL RAISING BLUE MARLIN BUT THEY ARE FINICKY DUE THE SHOALS OF MACKERAL WHICH ARE ABOUT THATS FISHING FOLKS BUT WHO KNOWS WHAT TOMORROW HOLDS MAYBE BLUE MARLIN OR TUNA OR SPEARFISH!
BLUE MARLIN

The last 2 days fishing have been very hard going although raising Blue Marlin and Spearfish.Not many boats have been hooking up.
Today Dorado Raised Blue Marlin twice only to have the fish fade away after pulling the outrigger clips open and briefly running off line.
WE did not hear of any other charter boats seeing Blue Marlin today in their spread of lures.
THE BLUE MARLIN ARE HEAR ITS JUST WHEN THEY ARE GOING TO FEED - TIME WILL TELL!

What a day Blue Marlin
Today whilst on board the Dorado boat German angler Haswig Knappe Caught and released a Blue Marlin of 280kilos/625lbs.
Congratulations to both angler and crew of Dorado.
DORADO - White Marlin
Thursday 13th August 2009
Congratulations to angler Kim Hall Joergensen from Denmark who toady caught a white Marlin whilst on board the Dorado.
A Grandslam ( Blue Marlin, White Marlin and Spearfish ) where chasing the lures at the same time. Kims Rod screamed off with the White Marlin and whilst kim was playing this fish the crew where teasing the blue marlin and spearfish for hook ups. They kept striking but unfortunately failed to hook up. Everyone on board today enjoyed this experience seeing a Grand Slam at the lures all at once wow!. Congratulations to the Lucky Angler Kim and Good luck for your fishing Saturday and Sunday - Maybe the Big Blue!
DORADO - BLUE MARLIN

Beginners Luck - Paul Ryans first trip to Gran Canaria is one he will remember for the rest of his angling career.
Paul a motor mechanic from Ireland witnessed 3 Blue Marlin weaving amongst the spread of lures whilst on board the DORADO boat. Two of these beauties struck his lure on seperate occasions. Number 3 Blue Marlin pounced on his lure for a solid hook up. Paul expertly played the fish to the boat in approx 20mins after sveral acrobatics airbourne jumps by this beauty. The fish was released in excellent condition.
CONGRATULATIONS TO ANGLER PAUL and Crew of DORADO for making his dream come true.

Although it was quiet for many boats today with regards to Marlin - Dorado raised 2 Blue Marlin with one hook up which ran off 50 meters of line before airbourne throwing the hooks- Bill wrapped - thats fishing folks! Other boats reported sightings of spearfish.
